Indian Fertility society was established in 2005 as the need was felt for the professionals to interact and share knowledge and keep up with vast advances in this field on a continuing basis. It became a platform for young upcoming infertility professionals to interact with the more experienced members. This young society is now poised to take a leap into the international arena by organising the 16th IFFS World Congress! with the growing need for infertility management in the country, a great future lies ahead for this progressive society. IFS has seen an unbelievable journey from 20 founder members to a current strength of 2200 life members and 23 state chapters which has resulted in nationwide participation.

The annual IFS conference known as Fertivision is an academic event which brings forth new research and innovations in the field, discussions on personal experience as well as evidence based science and debates on controversial topics. IFS has organized 16 conferences since its inception.

Welcome to Fertivision-2020 (16th Annual Congress of Indian Fertility Society)

Welcome to Chandigarh , the City beautiful for Fertivision-2020.

I, on behalf of the Organizing Committee of Fertivision-2020, extend a very cordial invitation to attend the 16th National Annual Conference of Indian Fertility Society. The Indian Fertility Society now has more than 2500 members. We invite you to join the annual conference and be the part of the change which the society is bringing in. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency, Industrial Area, Phase I, Chandigarh, from 4th to 6th December, 2020.

I am glad to say this conference is being organized jointly by the four northern chapters of IFS Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. All these states are known for their rich heritage, wonderful cuisine, team spirit, and hospitality. The exuberant enthusiasm of the organizing members is palpable.

Leading experts from India and abroad will deliver highly informative talks and interact with delegates. The captivating scientific program will satisfy your quest for knowledge leaving you wanting more. Besides providing an excellent learning experience through lectures, CMEs and Workshops, we aim to provide a platform for research. The theme selected for the conference “Excellence through research and innovation” conveys the mission with which the Society is moving forward to include research in ambit of its objectives and program. Prominent time slots will be earmarked in the program to promote and encourage original research. The best research publications from different categories will be rewarded. Faculty members will be invited to speak on their published work.

The three day scientific program includes didactic lectures by experts, workshops, quiz, meet-the- experts and panel discussions. There will be 10 Workshops on subjects such as ovarian stimulation, hands on OPU- ET, Endoscopy, USG in infertility, PGT- live relay from laboratory, Research Methodology, IVF lab set up, Andrology, Cryobiology, Genetics in infertility and more. The vast range of interesting and newer topics covered in the program will keep you glued to your seats.

Trade exhibition will be a special highlight of the conference. Special mini-auditoria will be created in the exhibition areas. These will showcase the products in “Know your equipment and products” program and special sponsored lectures. A few lectures and panel discussions will be held to bridge the gap between industry and medical fraternity.

IFS is affiliated to the International Federation of Fertility Societies(IFFS) in 2007 and
has been given the honour of hosting the International meeting of IFFS jointly with ISAR
in 2116 in the National Capital region( Greater NOIDA).

 

 

Training and Research

IFS also believe that progress lies in training and research. As there is an overwhelming interest among gynaecologists in acquiring newer skills, IFS is conducting one year fellowship in clinical ART and another one year fellowship in Clinical Embryology at 10 centres across India. IFS has also started a Preparatory Embryology Certification Course for ESHRE examination..
The Fertivision 2013 had an embryology course which IFS conducted along with ESHRE. Besides this, country wide workshops on IUI have been organized by the society. The society is aso carrying on multicentric research. Special interest groups have been formed on various aspects of infertility to concentrate efforts on research in this field. IFS along with its chapters has organized more than 30 CME’s and training programs nationwide.

 

 

Fertility Science & Research

“Fertility Science & Research” a peer reviewed indexed half yearly Journal is also being published by IFS. It has regular updates of the latest research in the field, and opinions on the controversial aspects on ethics and legal issues contributed by experts in the field. An E-Bulletin ‘IFS Nexus’ has started and being mailed monthly to all its members. Primary aim of this E- bulletin to bridge knowledge gap between ART clinicians and Embryologists. Besides this, country wide CME’s & workshops on IUI have been organized by the society. Special interest groups have been formed on various aspects of infertility to concentrate efforts on research in this field.
An E Bulletin ‘IFS vision’ was started and mailed periodically to all its members. It has regular updates of the latest research in the field, a report on the activities of the society , achievements of members, and opinions on the controversial aspects on ethics and legal issues contributed by experts in the field.
