The Bihar chapter of Indian Fertility Society was inaugurated on 31st May, 2015 at Hotel Patliputra Ashok, Patna. Inaugurating the chapter, President, IFS, Dr.Sonia Malik said that Indian Fertility Society aims at updating the skills and standards of Infertility management across India. Dr. Sudha Prasad, Secretary General, IFS informed that it is the eleventh branch of Indian Fertility Society and presented the details of various society activities. Dr. Anita Singh, Founder Secretary of Bihar Chapter welcomed the guests and introduced its thirty members including eminent IVF specialists of Bihar. On this occasion, Dr. Kalpana Singh and Dr. Supriya Jaiswal were installed as Joint Secretary and Treasurer of the Bihar Chapter while Dr. Neelam, Dr. Amita Sinha, Dr. Kavita Barnwal, Dr. Amita Narayan, Dr. Neelu Prasad, Dr. Ranjana Sinha and Dr. Shipra Roy were elected as council members. All the eminent gynaecologists of Patna including Dr. Sharda Sahay, Dr. Shanti Roy, Dr. Manju Gita Mishra, Dr. Pramila Modi, Dr. Kusum Gopal Kapoor, Dr. Pramila Modi, Dr. Shanti Singh, Dr. Dharamsheela Sharma, Dr. Kumkum Sinha, Dr. Reeta Dayal, Dr. Renu Rohatgi, Dr. Usha Didwania , Dr. Abha Rani Sinha, Dr. Himanshu Roy, Dr. Pragya Mishra Chaudhary and many members of POGS were present to mark the occasion.
Following inauguration, the 1st CME Programme of IFS Bihar chapter was also held in the same meeting. Dr. Sudha Prasad, Secretary General, IFS, presented a talk on “Infertility Management – an Overview” and Dr. Sushma Sinha, Joint Secretary, IFS elaborated on “Role of DHEA in Infertility Management”. Dr. Shanti Roy and Dr. Manju Gita Mishra, Eminent Gynaecologists of Patna chaired the session. Dr. Sonia Malik moderated a grand panel discussion on “Infertile Couple – Strategic Approach” in which four cases of infertility were discussed. Dr. Sudha Pasad, Dr.Sushma Singh, Dr. Pratibha Singh, Dr.Kavita Barnwal, Dr. Shipra Roy, Dr. Prachi Singh participated as panelists in a very lively and interactive discussion. Around 70 Gynaecologists of Bihar attended the function to mark it as a grand success.
